Jasper and Huntingburg customers of Spectrum, well known cable internet provider, will no longer receive tornado warnings through their local cable interrupter.
They will still be notified but Jasper Police Department said it will be issued from National Weather Service through their televisions.
The local interrupter gives more precise location for tornado touchdown. But due to malfunction of maturing equipment, the local interrupter haven't been working properly.
Once a test is complete users reported a few issue on TVSs failing to return to its normal broadcasting.
The Jasper police department recommend citizens to install weather apps on their phones, have an emergency alert weather radio and keep alert during weather events.
The NOAA will still be the best reference to any update on weather information as they operate 24/7. Citizens and keep updated on weather forecast, tornado watches and warnings.
