Top Skills You Should Work on this 2019 According to Forbes

by CJ Nice of tech4today.net

I was reading about New Year's Resolution and came across this article that Lidija Globokar wrote. According to her, the two skills to work on are your Human Skills and Love IQ. One thing I do admire about Lidija is that she made a difference in lives of many women through workshops and recognize unrepresented groups. It was a short article so I decided to look more further about the two skills she mentioned.

The fast process of innovating artificial intelligence somehow contributed in the idea of focusing on digital skills rather than human skills. Rapid growth of developments in technology have made the youth more interested in courses that involves computer and tech. But according to her ''if you want to prepare yourself for the fourth industrial revolution and be prepared for your future job you should work on them and not only on digital skills.''

Strong communication skills fall under this category. Communication is one of the most important aspect in properly delivering good results on someone's job. ''The importance of communication is conveying information clearly and confidently, contribute to team discussions and you can also represent the company to other potential clients.'' these are few points HN Porter said during our discussion.

It's been a cliche that some people don't listen to understand but listen to answer. And one skill that should be recognized is Active listening skills. This just don't apply to oral listening but to visual too. In order for you to process information in the right way you have to practice listening to every detail either your boss, colleague, or clients tell you. You should be able to be kin enough when reading materials such as emails, modules and any written information that gives you instructions
to properly do your job. ''Sometimes you have to listen to anything anyone would say whether it's good or bad because at the end of that you will still learn a thing or two. Either learning what to do or not to do.'' O'E Stone shared.

There's a lot more in the list like
The ability to relate to others.
Patience with others.
Knowing how and when to show empathy.
Genuine interest in others.
Flexibility.
Good judgment.

In Jack Ma's interview in the WEFAM in 2018 he tackled about a new form of intelligence, the LQ (''the IQ of Love''). “To gain success a person will need high EQ; if you don't want to lose quickly you will need a high IQ, and if you want to be respected you need high LQ - the IQ of love.” Its about loving someone's self and others and to walk away from egoism.

Why is LQ important in someone's productivity at work? ''If you love yourself and others, you will feel positive. If you feel loved, you can boost your confidence.''- JE Cool.

There are a lot of skills that someone needs to develop in order to achieve the goal they want. But the most important part is to start with small things. Just like taking care of yourself whether it's about your physical, emotional health and way of thinking. It will soon enough all be transformed into positive results.
