Mayweather Knocks Down Opponent in 1st round

On New Year's Eve former five-weight world champion Floyd Mayweather took on Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa.
The fight which was reportedly in the cable tv and internet is worth a $9m only lasted 140 seconds as Mayweather, 41, knocked out his opponent in the first round. Each round was scheduled to last three minutes with a total of three rounds.

Before the fight, both fighters were undefeated champions. "I'm still undefeated; Tenshin is still undefeated. Tenshin is a true champion and a hell of a fighter." Mayweather said after the fight. He added, "I want the fans around the world to support Tenshin, he's a great guy and a great champion." Mayweather also went on to praise his opponent, calling him a “young hungry lion.”

The rules of the game did not allow any kicking and the Japanese professional kickboxer faced a fine of  $5m should he aim a kick at his opponent. There were no judges so victory was determined by either a knockout or technical knockout. After 140 seconds of the first round, Nasukawa’s father threw in the towel which Mayweather as the victor of the fight.
This fight got many Mayweather fans hopeful that the undefeated champion has finally come out of retirement. However, the 41-year-old fighter, who hadn’t fought since defeating UFC star Conor McGregor over a year ago, said he was still retired and only came to Tokyo to give an opportunity to a younger fighter like Nasukawa.
"It was all about entertainment - we had a lot of fun. "They wanted this to happen in Japan, so I said 'why not?"

After the fight Nasukawa he was grateful for the experience and that he had learned a lot and praised his older opponent calling him , “first class,”
